ONTARIO TECH OPERATIONS ON PLANETARY SURFACES
There has grown a large amount of excitement has grown over OTOPS. I never dreamed that this little project would garner such love and support. The business department is working hard to get us sponsors, and hard deadlines have been set for our milestones. Many faculty members have reached out to help with various aspects of the design process, from tires to arm effectors. We should have a demonstrable chassis and suspension ready by the end of November and aim to have the rover ready for testing and troubleshooting by the end of April. There will be additional projects to work on, such as revamping the old rover, as well as some walking robots. These side projects are meant to be for learning and stress relief and will not override the main goal of the competition rover. Big things are planned for our little team, but it’s time to get to work.
